My 10 year old grandson, Thomas, lives in Kansas City, far from the wilds and very much a sheltered city boy. My middle son, Lex, and I are planning a couple of days camping with Thomas this summer in the Beartooth Mountains. Last night, my daughter Anya asked her son Thomas how he felt about going into the wilderness with Lex and me. “Well,” he said, “I’d feel a lot better about those bears if I had a shotgun!”
